1. Overview

PollTrip helps groups agree on travel dates. This page describes how information is handled in the version of the product we operate today: no user accounts, polls shared by link, and votes stored together with the poll data you choose to enter.

2. Cookies

PollTrip does not use cookies for analytics, advertising, or remembering preferences inside the app. When you load any website, your browser or general internet infrastructure may still use strictly technical cookies or similar mechanisms to deliver pages securely; we do not use those for our own tracking or profiling inside PollTrip.

3. Browser storage (recent polls)

To show recent polls on your device only, PollTrip saves a small list in your browser’s local storage—separate from cookies—so the list stays on your machine until you clear it.

Each entry can include:

  • the poll’s public slug (used in the URL),
  • the poll title as last seen,
  • a last visited timestamp.

We keep at most 10 polls in this list. The data never leaves your browser unless you submit other information to PollTrip as described below. You can remove it anytime using Clear on the Recent polls page, or by deleting site data for PollTrip in your browser settings.

4. Data stored when you use PollTrip online

When someone creates a poll or votes, related information is stored with PollTrip so the group can open the link later and see combined results. That can include:

  • Poll: title, optional description, optional closing time, public slug, and timestamps.
  • Options: labels and date ranges for each weekend or trip window you add.
  • Votes: for each option, the participant name entered in the form and a yes / maybe / no choice, plus a timestamp.

There are no login accounts in this version: identity is whatever name people type, and anyone with the poll link can typically view the poll and vote. Treat shared URLs like a shared whiteboard, not a private vault.

5. How long we keep data

Poll and vote records remain until they are deleted as part of operating or winding down the service, or removed by administrators. We do not promise indefinite retention; back up anything important outside PollTrip if you need a permanent record.

6. Your choices

  • Clear recent polls in the app or in your browser (see section 3).
  • Do not share poll links with people you do not want to see or contribute to the poll.
  • For questions about information PollTrip holds about you, or requests under applicable privacy law, contact us using the email below.

7. Contact

For privacy-related questions or data requests, write to contact@polltrip.com.

If you are in the European Economic Area or UK, you may also have rights to access, rectify, erase, or restrict processing of personal data under applicable law; include enough detail for us to locate relevant polls or votes (for example the poll URL or approximate time of creation).

8. Changes

We may update this notice when the product or legal context changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
